Maggie Rojas named Girls Trainer/Coach for 2020-21

Maggie Rojas, a former professional soccer player in Spain, has joined J Petrov Academy as a trainer and coach, Jelco Petrov, Director and Founder of J Petrov Academy announced. She will be working with younger groups as well as serving as the trainer and coach for girls’ teams that are forming for 2020-21.

Rojas played for UD Tacuense of the Women’s Spanish Primera División and played Division I collegiate soccer for Ohio University.

Rojas has an extensive background in youth soccer as a player and coach. Among one of the clubs she has been associated with is the Colorado Rapids Academy where she coached premier youth soccer. She has a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management and has worked in local communities helping to promote youth sports.

“Her coaching philosophy matches with ours,” said Petrov.

Rojas is excited to join the Academy. “I believe in developing the player first and enjoy coaching kids who are excited to play, ready to learn, and striving to win.”
